WHAT MAKES AN ALO RUNNER?

WHAT MAKES AN ALO RUNNER?

BEHIND THE CAMPAIGN

Whether you run alone, in a group, or alongside others on an app, running is inherently a solo pursuit. A life game where one foot follows the other, and a personal drive powers every step. And once you find your flow, there is no finish line.

We designed our first performance shoe for a life lived on varied terrain. Because no matter the pace, path, or personal motivation, running is a moving meditation. And when the mind-body connection hits, that’s just the start line.

MEET THE RUNNERS

Joe Burrow | Jordan Rand | Matthew Noszka | Rayna Vallandingham | Louis Chandler

To celebrate sport, speed, and that moment when sweat and limits slip away, we tapped five athletes with five different reasons to hit the track, gravel, or street, and asked them a simple question:

WHY DO YOU RUN?

JOE BURROW
Pro Quarterback

“The adrenaline on the field is like nothing else. When I run I feel pain, I feel tired, I feel bliss, I feel calm. Once you find that mental state, that zone that you have to be in to continue to push through, you learn a lot about yourself. Through that meditation, you learn that you can push through things that maybe you didn’t think you could before.” — Joe Burrow

JORDAN RAND
Racer & Activist

“There's so much we can’t control in life. Waking up early and making sure I get a run in before the day starts is one thing that I have complete and total control over, and that feels super empowering to me. Running for me is very meditative. It feels peaceful, it’s a practice that is mine.” —Jordan Rand

MATTHEW NOZSKA
Actor & Athlete

“I run to feel euphoria. My biggest breakthroughs while running have been about where I was headed and who I wanted to be. Chasing the person I want to be. The run might feel endless, but then you hit that stride where it all goes away—you know you hit your stride when you lose track of time.”—Matthew Nozska

RAYNA VALLANDINGHAM
13X World Tae Kwon Do Champion

“When I’m running, it’s just quiet. It’s just silence, and to me that’s the most special state of being. It’s the one time of day I set aside for myself. Conquering myself, that doubt, that perfectionism. Running is an escape from all that. When I’m just a part of nature and I immerse myself in it, that’s when I know I’ve hit my stride.” —Rayna Vallandingham

LOUIS CHANDLER
Head Alo Trainer

“I run because it frees my mind, it pushes my body to the limit, and it really helps me reset. Running is meditation for me, because it forces you to be in the moment. Nothing else in that moment really matters apart from the steps in front of you, and traveling forward.”—Louis Chandler

The runner’s high is real—and it starts with a single breath.

INHALE. EXHALE. RUN.
