Last week we brought 120 yogis together for the ultimate desert retreat. There were sunrise and sunset shoots, poolside hangs, massages and master classes, but the most rewarding part of the whole experience was witnessing SO many incredible connections, from one yogi to another ("you were my first inspiration!" "That was my first time trying acro!"). New friendships unfolded and years-long relationships only grew stronger—major feels all around. Here's how we spent three dreamy days in sunny Palm Springs...
Day 1, everyone was all smiles as yogis from around the world poured into our new home away from home. There were a ton of inspiring exchanges and introductions, and enough hugs to go around. We shared stories over dinner and toasted to an amazing time with great friends (and some fam!).
We woke up extra-early the next day for a sunrise yoga shoot (totally worth it) followed by an amazing morning flow class led by NYC-based yogi Melini Jesudason. And everyone took turns sharing how they're going to bring more yoga to the world on our intentions wall—such a special moment!
Organic snacks and coconut water were in order throughout the day, plus coconut bowling, afternoon swims and fun on the swings and in the bounce house (because we're all kids at heart). After dinner Susy of The Copper Vessel led an incredible sound bath under the stars, and everyone had all the feels. Then we changed into all-white and turned the living room into an epic dance party, blacklight and all. It ended with a bang, aka a bunch of us jumping into the pool in full Alo!
“There was a tangible buzz of excitement and sisterhood, brotherhood, family and loving intention…I’m so grateful for every smile, laughter, conversation, hug (and handstand) we shared.” - Talia Sutra
We kicked off the final day with an energizing morning yoga class from Melini, then Andrew Sealy made all of our acro dreams come true with a spontaneous acroyoga class! HALO Auragraphic was on-site to photograph and read auras, and everyone got in on massages, facials and mani/pedis by the pool. Later, some of us escaped to a secret desert location to take some seriously-epic sunset yoga shots. We couldn't have asked for a better backdrop!
“It was a blessing to have 2 full days of interaction, play, and FUN! To have the opportunity to help each other rise and continue to inspire together! That’s what we are here for.” - Andrew Sealy
It was an amazing few days with our Alo family, and we all left feeling inspired and excited for what's to come. Until next year!
