How To Connect During A Time Of Disconnect: #ClubAlo

Magical outdoor events & the return of community

We can only speak for ourselves, but we miss packed-house spin classes with a community vibing together to the beat of the music in an LED-lit room. Those group sweat seshes were filled with an energy that carried us through the rest of our day, keeping us motivated & inspired (even as our legs were struggling to make it up 2 flights of stairs to our apartments).

We miss yummy deep breathing in unison with 30 other people for final Savasana before kickstarting our weekend plans of beach volleyball and sunset dips with friends.

To put it simply: we miss – like, really miss – community.

This past year has taught us how truly magical it is to get together in-person for purposes big and small – whether it’s for the sake of sweating out work-week stress or doing our part to tidy up the beach.

Alo wants to create more opportunities to soak up this togetherness magic. How?

Meet #ClubAlo.

TIME TO RECONNECT

#ClubAlo is a global initiative that’s working with movers and shakers from all over the globe on the mission of bringing people together – to foster community and make things happen, even when that seems difficult.

From guitarist meet-ups on the North Shore of Oahu, to flows in French fields, to silent discos in the deserts of Joshua Tree, #ClubAlo is like the “fun” friend in your group who’s always trying new things, meeting interesting people, and bringing you along for the ride.

Inspired by ALO (air, land, ocean) this friend is traveling to magical outdoor settings all over the world to partner with you as we discover new ways to safely connect during the pandemic, and long after.

FIND YOUR YOGA

For the Alo fam, the mat is our happy place. Amidst bends, breathes, twists, and pops, we get real with ourselves.

Yoga is the difference between blinking & realizing it’s 30 years down the road and breathing in every moment that surrounds you – a little something we like to call conscious living.

But yoga – as life-changing as it is – is not the only way to stay present. There’s some very friend-crush worthy people innovating new ways to move mindfully and live intentionally all over the world.

The goal of #ClubAlo is to find these people, amplify their message, and inspire others to join the magic.

These days, we all seem to be on the hunt for wellness. The issue? This hunt doesn’t provide a map or a guide or even a point in the right direction. I mean, are we eating the grains or not? Do we need to meditate for 5 minutes or 30? Do we need barre, or yoga, or weights, or some complex combo in between?

#ClubAlo is here to get rid of these lines in the sand.

We bet you’re thinking “hold up – I’m a to-do listing, check-marking, color-coding type who needs those lines in the sand.”

Well, remember, this is the “fun” friend talking.

The friend who catapults into new experiences like they were born to do it and comes out on the other side feeling full, rejuvenated, and nourished.

We've learned that it doesn’t necessarily matter what you’re doing at the end of the day. Whether it’s a sound bath or a sunset flow, ushering wellness into your life begins with moving your body, connecting with the moment around you, and getting inspired alongside a community of people – regardless of the modality.

With your help, #ClubAlo is unearthing all of the different gateways to wellness, so if you’ve found yours or you’re still on the hunt, you’re going to want to read on...

A GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT

There’s people in our communities who haven't spent more than 10 minutes on Instagram in the past year, yet they’re bona fide, legit influencers.

What? How can this be?

They’re the glue of their communities – they get people together to move, live in the moment, and build (comm)unity.

These are the people that #ClubAlo is on the search for!

The players on the ground digging in, spreading good, and speaking their truth with all the conviction in the world.

If you’re one of these people, Alo wants to support you.

We believe in the impact you’re making and we want to do all the heavy-lifting so you can focus on doing what you do best – inspiring your community into wellness during the pandemic, after re-opening, and for the long haul.

Use this form to tell us how you create a sense of unity. What’s your unique concept, what happening events have you spearheaded in the past, how can we work together to organize a meetup that gets people inspired? We’re already feeling envious of the wellspring of creativity inside of you.

It doesn‘t matter if you’re rollerblading or you’ve adopted a newfound enthusiasm for plants – if you’re speaking the #ClubAlo language of community and connection, #ClubAlo is a fan. We want to hear from you & help you make things happen.

CHANGING THE VIBRATIONS OF THE WORLD

As you know by now, yoga is our thing. But if strumming some chords on a guitar or hosting a farm to table cooking class is what gets you living in the present moment, you’ve found your own yoga.

You’re already moving and shaking the world around you and our goal is to support you, get more people learning from your vision, and ultimately inspire other people around the world to do the same.

Whether you’re a potential host-to-be or an inspired soul wanting to get in on the action, head over to #ClubAlo to check out upcoming events in your neck of woods or apply to host an event.

We think it’s about time we reconnect. Are you coming along for the ride?
